Democratul Obama a fost preferat de 42,7% dintre cei 1.700 de respondenţi, comparativ cu 20,5% care l-au indicat pe rivalul acestuia, republicanul Mitt Romney, restul nearătând nicio preferinţă.
Rezultatul a fost însă diferit în SUA, unde o uşoară majoritate dintre respondenţi consideră că alegerea lui Romney ar fi mai bună pentru afacerea lor.
Barack Obama păstrează un avans de şapte puncte faţă de Mitt Romney în intenţiile de vot ale alegătorilor înregistraţi, în pofida pesimismului în creştere al americanilor cu privire la viitor, indică un sondaj Reuters/Ipsos întreprins săptămâna trecută.

The solution may be to focus not on the political conversation that existed before the shooting but on the one that's come out of it. This allows the president to avoid the question of what motivated the shooter but does not limit his ability to talk about the problems with our political culture. He has fresh evidence, minted by the hour, of the problems of our political conversation."
